Family Session | Mountain View, CA

So, it had been two years since I had the pleasure of photographing this family but when we met up at Shoreline Park a few weeks ago it was as though we hadn't missed a beat!

The session started with a rousing game of hide & seek between the kids and Dad...

She was our seeker

Mom and Dad finally got a shot of just the two of them, which hasn't happened since their wedding! *gasp*

My aim is to always make everyone feel at ease in front of the camera.  This little guy who is normally very camera shy and always puts on the 'cheese' smile is the perfect example of what a difference feeling comfortable can make.  There's no 'cheese' here!

This session was a gift for Mom and the thing she wanted most was to replace a similar shot we did at our last session two years ago of her and the kids - see below.

Every year I looked forward to the Easter egg hunt at my grandparent's house!  We'd get all dressed up, wear our Easter hats and share our Easter basket goodies with cousins, then we'd trample through the yard to see who could find the most eggs!

Mountain View Family Session

This past weekend I had the pleasure of getting together with a family I photographed almost a year ago for the little  Birthday party.  This session was really nice because it was all family focused and they even had a sweet little addition that I had the true pleasure of meeting!

The other fun thing about this shoot is that they were our most recent contest winners!  They won a free Mary Bea Photography photo shoot by telling us what is meant to them to have a photo shoot.  Mom made a good point by saying things get busy with two kids and they hadn't taken the time recently to capture their growing family.  I was honored to be able to do that for them.  I know these are pictures that they will treasure for a lifetime!

Little R | Emma Prusch Farm Park | San Jose, CA

We had such a blast this weekend exploring Emma Prusch Farm Park in San Jose.  As you can tell from these photos this little guy was full of awesome energy!  From chasing each other around the play ground to wanting to pet the pigeons there wasn't a dull moment.  If you local parents are looking for a fun activity soon as the weather continues to get better & better I highly recommend checking out the farm park.  Where do your kids love to explore?  Comment below.

Happy Birthday Baby!

I was thrilled when I woke up this morning to hear that the Mom from a recent maternity shoot was finally going into labor!  She is a client that I am honored to also be able to call a friend.  We had a lot of fun playing around in different parts of their home.  In honor of the new baby's arrival, here are some shots from her very first photo shoot.  I know Big Sister will take the role on with smiles & hugs.

The A Family Teaser at Shoreline Park

I had so much fun capturing the different little personalities in this family recently.  Big sis knows exactly how to avoid the camera and gets a kick out of doing so, but luckily we had fun making a game out of it!  Our middle guy, well I don't think there is anything that words can say that you can't see below in his very own triptych of adorable glances below.  As for the little guy of the family, well he just has the most beautiful big brown chestnuts for eyes so how can you go wrong?

Oh, and lastly, look closely at the center image.  I had initially taken the photo more zoomed out but then when you see her little brother's expression looking up at her my heart melted!  So glad this little moment of their exploration adventure was captured!

Wardrobe Wednesday (Halloween Edition)

Boo!

With Halloween coming up this weekend I thought, what would be more appropriate than a Halloween themed Wardrobe Wednesday?!?

What are the popular costumes in your house this year?

The little ones I've been hanging around lately are either feeling funny, feeling like a princess or dressing up like Ninjas (the overwhelming winner!)

For the record I absolutely LOVE this princess costume, it lights up!!  Cool for the kids and way cool for the parents to keep an eye on their little princess as the sun goes down!  I wish they had this costume when I was little!!

Big Brother to Be!

I had the pleasure of photographing this family last week just before they welcomed their new addition. I love this black & white series showing big brother's excitement and love for both baby & Mom!

He's 1!

My shoot in Palo Alto last week was so much fun!  This little guy just recently turned one and I absolutely can not believe it, because just mere months before he rolled over for the first time during his 4 month shoot!  They grow so fast and he is no exception, he was running so fast he gave me a workout!

Playground Fun

So glad to get this teaser up & blogged!  We had so much fun finally capturing these two siblings playing together at the park in Mountain View.  E was just almost 8 months when we did this shoot and his sister has finally taken a keen interest in playing with him!  We tried this shoot a couple months ago and it became really a solo of E because she was not interested!

Exploring at the Junior Museum & Zoo

Here is a photo from a recent photo shoot I did at the Junior Museum & Zoo of Palo Alto.  It is a wonderful hidden gem right in our neighborhood.  This little guy was having so much fun he didn't even want to leave when the shoot was over!
