What to Wear this Fall?

It is important to remember simple is better for photos.  You don't want too much craziness going on, while simultaneously looking fabulous!

Color:  Pick one or two solid colors to build off and then use a fun pop of color of pattern to accent the whole look.
Layers:  This is California and it is Fall, so yes yes yes!  Not only will it add dimensionality and a change in look, it will keep you warm!
Accessories: Another important way to add excitement to your look - scarves, suspenders, sunglasses can all be great ways to just add that little extra spark to make your photos shine!

All these looks and more can be found at Gap with great deals ending tomorrow!

Fall sessions are booking up quickly so contact us today!

Hope to see you soon!

Wardrobe Wednesday

With the Valentine's Day just around the corner I thought it fitting to do a couple's Wardrobe Wednesday!

Whether it's an engagement shoot or just a great gift of professional portraiture this look screams sweet & sensual.  Two adjectives that go hand and hand with the day of love.  The looks works great even just for date night, coming in under $50 for the whole look!  Thanks ModCloth :)

Men's look from J.Crew.

Enjoy!

Wardrobe Wednesday in the New Year

Here's to 2015 being the year where Wardrobe Wednesday stays consistent!  This is my promise to you all to hold myself accountable for making sure this blog post makes it up, ahem, that's right I said EVERY week! We've all got our resolutions, right? What is yours?

Although the Blog has been pretty silent through the Holidays that is changing now, get ready everybody!

Back to the important things here, who loves the pink pops in this weeks What to Wear - you know I do!  It's great how the pink is really used as an accent color and to help things pop in this more blue dominated family look.  Place a live family in these duds at Arastradero Preserve in Palo Alto and you've got a home run shoot for sure.

Enjoy

Wardrobe Wednesday

Looking towards Fall in this week's Wardrobe Wednesday...or California weather anytime of year, ha.  The key here is layers, while it serves the great purpose of keeping you warm it also adds dimensionality to your photos as well as changing up your looks by incorporating the layers for some  of the photos and leaving them by the way-side in others.  These looks and so many more can be found this week at The Gap...psst 30% right now too!

The Fall schedule is filling up fast for family sessions so be sure to book yours before it's too late!

Fall Fun

This is a fun collection of images I wanted to share from last weeks shoot down by the Hudson River in Garrison, NY of my adorable niece and nephews.  (As well as their cat who I am so painfully allergic too I actually had a 'bout with allergic conjunctivitis! It was even less fun than it sounds!)

How much do you love their initial sweaters?! (L-R: Emmett, Mira, Jasper & Henry)

Mary Bee Photography: Baby Love

Visiting New York this weekend my lens was mainly focused on the little cutie below, my niece Mira.  She is hopefully going to be inspirational imagery for an upcoming venture, a new business called Mary Bee Photography.  Mary Bee Photography will be a new adventure for me and a way for me to share my love for photography and children with the world.  Share this blog post with anyone you might know interested in having great photos of their kiddies.

On our second GoCar journey we finally made it to the famous Lombard Street (the crooked street)!  We had a great time, especially because our best friends were in town from New York!

The impressive Salt Lake City, Utah Capital Building; Salt Lake city has many impressive buildings around town including the Mormon Temple Square.  The only thing that may be more impressive than the buildings would have to be the organ in the Mormon Tabernacle.

Hello Western America

Boulder Dushanbe Tea House

The Boulder Dushanbe Tea House was a spot recommended to me by my Aunt and Uncle and it is a Boulder must-see!  The Tea House was actually a gift to the city of Boulder by their sister city, Dushanbe (the capital of Tajikistan).  The presence of tea in Boulder, CO was a pleasant surprise.  In addition to the Dushanbe Tea House we also visited the factory and headquarters of Celestial Seasons Tea.

 Onward to Wyoming...

Driving Through the Flat Lands

See ya later Kentucky!

St. Louis Arch

I took this picture especially for my sister Kate, who went to college in St. Louis.  I  love how it came out though, we had some truly beautiful days with especially gorgeous skies on our trip  out west!

Monument Rocks of Kansas
The Monument Rocks of Kansas, also known as Chalk Pyramids are very impressive.  Formed over 80 million years ago these rocks, like their second name have a very chalky texture.  Towering over 70 ft. tall - the one pictured above naturally shaped like a camel others have holes through them; amazing wonders of the world.

Garlic: the natural anti-biotic

"There is no such thing as a little garlic."
Arthur Baer

No statement were truer this past weekend at the annual garlic festival in Saugerties, New York.

http://www.hudsonvalleygarlic.com/

After a beautiful drive upstate, my friends and I indulged in every kind of garlic flavored food you can imagine, even garlic cookies & ice cream! My favorite - the garlic ricotta fried ravioli in a garlic butter sauce!
